Enable Telnet in Vista


When I try to use telnet feature in Vista, I couldn’t use it. After scrolling through Microsoft help, I learn that you need to enable it in Vista first.

Go to Start –>> Control Panel –>> Programs and features –>> Turn Windows features on or off

After that, check Telnet Client and click ok.

Open any WAP / XML Site in Firefox


There are few browsers which allow Viewing WAP sites via PC i.e Opera. But many of us prefer to use Firefox instead of using opera or internet Explorer. So, there is a Plugin for Firefox called WML browser (Wireless Markup Language). By using this Plugin we are able to browse most of WAP sites from our firefox.

To get this Add-on, follow the below instructions:

1.) Go to WML browser plugin.
2.) Click on Add to firefox.
3.) A Popup will be Appear i.e “Software installment”, below you will see a tab “Install now”. Click on “Install Now” tab.
4.) Once installation done, restart your firefox.

Remove Virus from USB Drive


One of the ways by which a virus can infect your PC is through USB/Pen drives. Common viruses such as ’Ravmon’ , ‘New Folder.exe’, ‘Orkut is banned’ etc are spreading through USB Driver. Most anti virus programs are unable to detect them and even if they do, in most cases they are unable to delete the file, only quarantine it. Here are the things which you can do if you want to remove such viruses from your USB Drive

Whenever you plug a USB drive in your system, a window will appear similar to the one shown below

Don’t click on Ok , just choose ‘Cancel’. Open the Command Prompt by typing ‘cmd‘ in the run box. In the command prompt type the drive letter: and press enter . Now type dir /w/a and press enter.

This will display a list of the files in the pen drive. Check whether the following files are there or not

  • Autorun.inf
  • Ravmon.exe
  • New Folder.exe
  • svchost.exe
  • Heap41a
  • or any other exe file which may be suspicious.

Background Pic in any Folder of XP or Pendrive

Open the Folder in which you want to set a background pic..

Go to
TOOLS >> Folder option >> View >> check Show Hidden files + uncheck HIDE EXTENSION FOR KNOWN FILETYPES + uncheck HIDE PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEM FILES >> APPLY >> OK

now go to drive or folder in which u wanna add wallpaper.. (it may be your Pendrive)

Make a new text file and paste the following:

[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]
iconarea_image=photo.jpg
iconarea_text=0×00000000

save this file in the same drive or folder and name the as DESKTOP.INI
Also Copy the pic which you want to add in background in same folder. (photo.jpg)
